Vacancy for Parish Councillors

Would you like to get things done and contribute to the well-being of the community in Ruspidge & Soudley? Due to recent councillor resignations, Ruspidge & Soudley Parish Council has three councillor vacancies, one vacancy for Ruspidge (West) & two vacancies for Soudley (East). We are particularly keen to hear from Soudley residents who might be interested in taking on these roles, as we currently have no members from Soudley. Of course, Ruspidge residents are also welcome and we have one remaining Ruspidge (West) seat.


As a Parish Councillor, which is an unpaid position on the council, you will need enthusiasm to be available to attend Parish Council Meetings. Some of your own time will be sacrificed to carry out the required roles and help the Parish Council spend its limited funds wisely and so maintain/improve the area we live in. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: To be a Councillor, you must be:

A British or Commonwealth citizen.

Aged 18 years or over.

In one of the following categories:

a) appear on the Electoral Register for the parish,

b) have lived in (or within 3 miles of) the parish for at least a year.

c) have had your main place of work within the parish for at least a year.
